This picture is the very first one that I saw for the whole project, and, as such, it holds a spot of honour. But, not only that, it was taken on the exact spot that I left it the camera: on a bench at Roads End State Park in Lincoln City, Oregon on August 29, 2006. As you can see, these kids are holding the envelope that was in the package – seemingly as a way to mark the beginning of the journey that they take with the camera. And, they do take a journey.

what beautiful children! I'm surprised that the overall quality of the images (of the entire project) are really good, in this digital age everyone knows how to man a camera!

I've definitely been as surprised as you are about the quality of the images – who knew that cheap disposable cameras could produce such good pics!
